I first went to the Healing Service in 1976
and sat behind a pillar at the back of the Cathedral. Canon Jim Glennon
was speaking that night and his message was so relevant to my very real
need at the time. I had a load of problems. Divorce, loneliness, away
from my family in the country, a financial need and a place to live.
That night in 1976 Canon Glennon spoke about
the problems we face and gave a practical illustration of how to handle
all our problems. He said, the problems are what you see; you are
focused on your problems. Then he had us do a 180 degrees turn and now
the problems are behind us and God is before us. We are now focusing on
God and His answer to our need. We are to depend on God more. God was
taking me on a journey that I had not walked before. I began to put
into practice this teaching. There were times when my problems began to
overwhelm me and I needed to do the 180 degrees turn again to put the
problems behind me and focus on God and His answer to my need. God was
changing my negative attitude of being problem oriented to trusting Him
for my every need. I was learning to depend on Him more.
God had opened up a brand new life for me.
I was able to get a job after a few weeks so I could support my family.
I also found another place to live. God has healed me emotionally and
has healed me of the hurts and wounds from the past. I began to
experience God’s peace in a way I had not known before. God does carry
us in His arms of love next to his heart.
I have met so many wonderful people in the
Healing Ministry and was truly blessed to be a part of the loving church
family that make up the congregation each Wednesday night. We are
blessed to bless others. Since the purchase of the Healing Ministry
Centre in Newtown in 1985 I have been involved in a number of areas in
service and ministry. That first evening at the Healing Service was a
turning point in my life. I can truly say don’t ever give up. God
desires to heal each one of us in our spirit, mind, emotions and body.
Our great and loving God wants to bless us
abundantly above all that we can ask or think. |
